Ahmad bin Ali Stadium popularly known as the Al-Rayyan Stadium. It is one of the playing venues of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. The stadium officially opened on 18 december 2020 with the Amir Cup final between Al-Sadd and Al-Arabi. Al-Rayyan stadium has multi purposes, it is currently used for football matches and it is the home to Al-Rayyan Sports Club and Al-Kharitiyath Sports Club. The stadium's name taken from a person named Ahmad bin Ali Al Thani, the emir of Qatar. The design of the stadium indicates Qatari culture and Islamic architecture. The Ahmad bin Ali Stadium is one of eight stadiums being converted for the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar. The stadium will host seven matches during the FIFA World Cup, with six group games and one round of 16 knockout match of Qatar 2022. There are 40,000 seats are available, after the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 the upper tier and almost half of the 40,000 seats will be handed over to football development project abroad. There is one hotel near Ahmad bin Ali Stadium, that is Al-Rayyan Hotel Doha.
