Details:

Large intersections are marked with a large yellow box with diagonal squares. this is known as a box junction. it is to indicate to drivers that they must not block the intersection when traffic is heavily congested. Signs will warn drivers not to queue across the intersection. You can see Stop Line, Pedestrian Crossing and Box Junction in this diagram below.
