1. Regulatory Signs

Regulatory signs are used to control the actions of road users. This used to control the drivers and other users actions in the road in Kuwait. This is applicable by law and it clearly states what action you can perform and what prohibited. Suppose if you want to know how much speed you can follow in some roads, the speed limit sign will inform you that. If you are driving above that limit there will be cameras and speed related fine may waiting for you. There are various types of regulatory signs:

Prohibitory Sign

They indicate prohibited actions or objects, so as to indicate road users about actions they should not take or which are prohibited. Some examples of prohibitory signs are: no left turn, no right turn, do not overtake, do not exceed 80kmph speed limit, do not horn, no hazardous materials, no goods vehicles, no pedestrians, no cyclists, maximum heights limits, qualification plate, no U turn.

Parking control

These signs are used to control and regulate stopping and parking. This also called as 'no stopping' sign. Some examples of parking control signs are not park or stop in the provided time restriction Few are related to Handicapped Parking The blue sign below shows an area reserved for parking by handicapped people. The parking bay will also be marked with appropriate markings. The people who got the permit can park here and should display the card when required.

2. Warning Signs

Warning signs alert road users to potentially dangerous or hazardous conditions. Most of these signs are triangular having a red border surrounding a black symbol on a white background. The symbol give a pictorial indication of the likely hazard. In certain cases supplementary plates may be added to provide extra information.
